KSI’s Fourth Annual World Green & Sustainability Summit

In the Foundation’s recent Energy Transition Roundtable, Tan Sri Dr Michael O.K Yeoh, Vice Chair of the United Nations ESCAP Sustainable Business Network (ESBN) Executive Council and President, KSI Strategic Institute for Asia Pacific, invited the Global Foundation’s Partners and Allies to KSI‘s fourth edition of their World Green & Sustainability Summit (WGSS).
The World Green & Sustainability Summit (WGSS) is an annual convening of government leaders, corporate executives, diplomats, investors, and sustainability practitioners dedicated to connecting policy direction, market readiness, and implementable solutions for green growth and climate action. WGSS has grown from its inaugural gathering in Kuching, Sarawak (2023) through Penang, Malaysia (2024) and Phnom Penh, Cambodia (2025) into one of Asia-Pacific’s foremost cross-sector sustainability platforms.
WGSS 2026 was anchored in the 4Ps — Planet, People, Prosperity and Partnership — with a sharpened focus on delivery at a critical moment: climate cooperation is increasingly challenged by geopolitical fragmentation and tighter capital, while ESG credibility and transition claims face intensifying public and regulatory scrutiny. The summit’s signature closing session dedicated to Sabah’s Blue Economy anchors these global themes in a specific, investable regional opportunity, presenting Malaysian Borneo’s ocean-based sustainable development as a model for nature-positive prosperity.
The day featured an Opening Ceremony, three plenary sessions, a Special Ambassadors Roundtable, two parallel breakout tracks, a high-level luncheon, a synthesis panel, and a closing session, culminating in the presentation of the World Green & Sustainability Excellence Awards.
The Global Foundation’s Secretary General, Mr Steve Howard, addressed Plenary two alongside a selection of distinguished leaders. Among these leaders was Mr Afzal Mohsin, Chief of Corporate Affairs and Sustainability – APAC at Vale, Key Partner of the Global Foundation.
